We know that we should be passionate about what we do, but what about being passionate about continually improving the way we do things? Stephen will share some of the practices he has developed through the years to improve his effectiveness, through trial and error, research and those around him. We constantly hear about planning, budgeting and mentoring -- but do we put them into practice? Do we believe they're worth the thought and time? How many of us think they work?

ABOUT STEPHEN
As a teenager, Stephen ran his own web development and marketing company during the early years of the Internet. His avid interest in online marketing led him to join GFI Software in 1999 to handle the company's online marketing activities. Building on the experience gained in this role, he became the company's youngest Director at 24, when he was appointed Director of Marketing. In this role, he is responsible for a vast range of worldwide corporate and product marketing functions. Stephen also spent a number of years concurrently leading TechGenix, a company specializing in online portals for IT experts, with a number of leading websites to its name. At 29, Stephen is still cultivating his passion for marketing and technology and the marriage between the two. Another key focus of his is leadership and working with and through successful teams.

ABOUT TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
