Maurizio Seracini è un ingegnere dei beni culturali, grande studioso dell'arte italiana. Laureatosi nel 1973 in bioingegneria alla Università della California, San Diego (UCSD), Università in cui è professore, ha fondato nel 1977 la prima società in Italia in grado di effettuare diagnosi e analisi non-invasive sulle opere d'arte, la Editech srl - Diagnostic Center for Cultural Heritage in Florence. Adattando le tecnologie dal mondo medico e militare ha reso possibile l'analisi profonda delle opere d'arte senza distruggere l'opera d'arte stessa. Seracini è molto conosciuto per la sua ricerca sull'opera di Leonardo Da Vinci, La Battaglia di Anghiari, nel Salone dei Cinquecento di Palazzo Vecchio.

Maurizio Seracini is a diagnostician of Italian art. A '73 UCSD Alumnus, graduated in bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego(UCSD), he founded, in 1977, the first company in Italy for diagnostic and non-destructive analyses on art and architecture, the Editech srl, Diagnostic Center for Cultural Heritage in Florence.[1] Adapting technologies from the medical and military fields and other technical measuring instruments he has made possible diagnostics of art and search for art without destroying the artwork itself. Seracini has been well known for his search for the Leonardo da Vinci mural, The Battle of Anghiari in the Salone dei Cinquecento, Palazzo Vecchio, Florence.
