Ellen O'Kane Tauscher is an American politician and a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing California's 10th congressional district since 1997. The district includes a number of areas in the East Bay portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as some areas near Sacramento. On March 18, 2009, Tauscher announced that she had accepted the position of Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.
