American Artifacts Preview: Shiloh Battlefield, Tennessee April 18, 2012
The Battle of Shiloh took place April 6th and 7th, 1862 in Hardin County, Tennessee, and resulted in a Union victory over Confederate forces. We visited Shiloh National Military Park, where Chief Ranger Stacy Allen showed us battle flags, arms and munitions. He took us behind the scenes to see the park's storage facility which houses personal effects left by soldiers on the battlefield -- including two rare Civil War tents.
