Ramsey Ford is using design to improve the world. The principles of good design are usually reserved for the wealthiest members of our global society, allowing us to live in relative and complete comfort. As co-founder of Design Impact, a non-profit organization that partners the world's best designers with global communities in need, Ramsey and his team use the principles of good design to improve the lives of those with the greatest need for improvement. Ramsey will discuss the use of design as a means to empower the world's poorest citizens.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
