Xanthe teaches design-thinking at the Saunders College of Business and in the Innovation Center at R.I.T. At present she is working on a book from which she draws her talk: "MAKE BETTER STUFF: the rise of social business and distributed manufacturing". Other research interests include sustainability, food-systems, local currencies, new media, DIY, and design pedagogy. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
