About Speaker

Squeeze a lifetime worth of excellence into a span of twenty years and you get what the letters in the name of the Director/ Producer Shah Sharahbeel truly represent. His production house CSP (Center Stage Productions) dawned as a legislature for both the makers and the audience of commercial theatre, the seeds of which were sown in the year 1990. His stage productions, usually the replica of epic classics depicting farce, comedy and a hybrid of drama and emotions, have hit the metropolitan hubs of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad like a storm. Originals are what his fan following highly anticipate as his next big thing, however, for the time being they are greatly indebted to him for introducing quality to the theatrical realities of the country which goes a long way in grooming our perceptions. Born on the 16th of March, the directors' journey began in 1988 when he joined a band called 'Night Creatures'. By taking the dramatic step of moving out of the comfort zone of his family & home at the tender age of sixteen in order to stand on his own feet, he set the wheels in motion for a dramatic future ahead. Calling himself a fighter, he sees values and upbringing as real educators in life and apart from organization and commitment, highly regards 'burning desires' as a propeller for success in life. Following graduation from Cathedral College in Lahore, his first stage production was 'Oh dad, poor dad', an instant triumph making way for more successful ventures like "Phantom of the Opera", "Moulin Rouge", "Bombay Dreams", "Home is where your clothes are", "Tom, Dick & Harry", and "You only marry twice", to name a few. He went on to become a Chief men's wear designer in a chain of leading clothes brand and in 2000, he opened the Al-Falah mini golf course & amusement park. Currently employed by LUMS and LGS Defence Campus in Lahore, a promising self-employed entrepreneur as he is, he is a living proof of the fact that challenging times or no challenging times, there's simply no excuse for bringing innovation to a standstill.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TED

TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani,Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The annual TED Conference takes place in Long Beach, California, with simulcast in Palm Springs; TEDGlobal is held each year in Oxford, UK. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TEDTalks are posted daily, and the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any TEDTalk to be translated by volunteers worldwide. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world, and the TEDFellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
