(In Icelandic, captions will be added later) Ragnheidur Haraldsdottir is the CEO of Iceland Cancer Society. As in many other countries around the world Pink October, all so called Pinktober, is an annual cancer awareness month for women in Iceland. Each year a new design of the pink ribbon is sold to fund various projects. The ribbons have been manufactured in the most cost effective way possible. In 2011 the Icelandic Cancer Society put all their trust in a Norwegian human aid group which works with women in Swaziland. After having heard nothing for quite awhile doubt started creeping in. Would they get what they had all-ready paid for? Ragheidur tells the remarkable story that follows.
