Born in Treviso in '79, Francesca Antoniolli graduated in Material Engineer at University of Trieste. Decided to stay in Italy and continue the research activity undertaken with the thesis work on biological applications of MEMS devices, with a PhD in Material Science and Engineer. At the same time, maintained collaboration with the Medicine Faculty, performing research and teaching activity in the field of dental material and biomaterial in general. In 2005, together with the colleagues Stefano Maggiolino and Nicola Scuor, engaged the competition for business ideas Start Cup Trieste, winning the first prize and the possibility to take part in the National Prize for Innovation. The following year, the industrial idea was realized with the foundation of Genefinity, the first University Spin-off in Trieste, of which she is co-founder and Managing Director. After the conclusion of the PhD program, she chose to leave the academic world and to entirely dedicate to the entrepreneur activity. In Genefinity, she carries out both research activity, in the field of nanostructured materials for photovoltaic applications, and administrative activity: she is personnel officer and handles part of administration and financing. With Genefinity, she received several awards at national level: Prize of Prizes for Innovation, conferred by President of Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano and the prize Start-up of the Year, that recognized the capacity of Genefinity entrepreneurs to translate the business idea into a productive context of excellence.
