ELIZABETH HOUSHOLDER came to Temple University as the first program director for the Office of Leadership Development, and now also works as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Strategic Communication. Her list of experience and accomplishments is long, including work at Miami University (OH) and Xavier University, a position as associate editor of Greater Fort Wayne Family magazine, and internships in the Office of US Senator Evan Bayh and with Dekko Foundation. Elizabeth earned her BA (magna cum laude) from Hanover College and her MS from Miami University. In Fall '11, she will begin a doctoral program in Educational Administration at Temple.

In her TEDxTalk, Elizabeth challenges her audience to become leaders who live and lead with integrity and meaning. She explains how many people view the world through a cycle of cynicism, and how tomorrow's leaders will instead view the world through a cycle of hope and a focus on core personal values.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
