TEDxPearlRiver - Chris Barthelemy - Entomology in Asia: why should you care? May 12, 2011
Chris Barthelemy was born in Italy where he lived until he moved to the UK at the age of 8, when he started his early insect collections and observations. His first professional experience was in London and then Paris, there, he opened his own small practice in 1992. He moved to HK a few weeks after finishing his M.Phil in 1996. In HK, he first taught at the Chinese University Department of Architecture and since 1998 he has been involved in a wide range of architectural projects locally and abroad, without abandoning natural history. From early on he has been observing and documenting the life of local insects and particularly those that we fear, the wasps!

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations). www.ted.com/tedx
