Aaron Ebner is a Master's of Public Administration graduate student at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He is the founder of the Andean Alliance, a Peruvian registered grassroots organization, based in Huaraz, Peru. Situated at 3650 meters, at the base of the Cordillera Blanca Mountains the Andean Alliance is focused on supporting "grass roots" community development planning capabilities and implementing programs that strengthen the educational and economic base of Andean communities while enhancing their social and environmental conditions. Aaron's TEDxMonterey talk focused on how a team of empowered students can create change in the world while redefining their education experience.

This year's TEDxMonterey inspired and engaged the Monterey community with fascinating leaders, inventors, scientists, artists, community activists and global dreamers. With an all star line up of inspirational speakers the Monterey Institute of International Studies hosted the event on April 15th, 2011 and enjoyed participation from over 400 people both in person and online. The theme of this year's TEDxMonterey was Cultivating Innovation, which dazzled the audience through the themes of question, engage and transform.
