Giuliana "G!" Pe Benito is a junior at Westlake High School. "Spare Change" was written while she waited for her parents to pick her up after she got very lost exploring Los Angeles by herself. She sat at the foot of a large corporate building and explored the process by which she came to recognize injustice and corruption. Says "G", "'Spare change' is a call to action using the ambiguity of synonymous and paradoxical phrases and words to incite fruitful thought and demand the insight to question whether one's previous setbacks have defeated the objective vision of the world necessary to be an effective activist."

TEDxConejo, an independently organized TED event, was held in Thousand Oaks, Ca on March 26, 2011. The conference theme was Energy, using that word very broadly to go beyond what powers our homes and transportation but really what fuels life. What energizes business, education, health, and ideas? What energizes you? A broad mix of thinkers and doers characterizes the TEDx experience both on the stage and in the audience.
