The TEDxPalermo's Talk by Cristina Alga was held on April30th. The location due to bad weather was changed at the very last minute and studio427. She presented her idea of creative economy throughout her several ongoing projects at Clac.
Cristina Alga, 33 years old, has a B.A. degree in Communication and Political Science in Bologna with a thesis on multimedia and interactivity in contemporary artistic practices. The areas of interest are changeable as changeable is the contemporary cultural scene but still continues the desire to work where creative activities are related to local development dynamics and possibilities, where development is born from relationships between people, from sharing, from possible transformations of a place/area. CLAC -- The Team Centro Laboratorio Arti Contemporanee provides Design, Organization, Production and Promotion events and shared projects for culture and tourism aimed to develop local acting as ability to move at different levels and on different areas, complexity planning, cross-disciplinary skills in the belief that sharing and creativity in the cultural field are the basis for the development of a territory. The founders of CLAC are Filippo Pistoia and Cristina Alga. Filippo Pistoia, 35 years old, he works from 2000 in the field of cultural planning and event organization. He is also involved in video production, communication campaigns and exchange projects between European artistic realms. He especially focuses on the projects of local marketing and economic development, also on creative commons projects and on shared design practices. He contributed to three editions of Il Genio di Palermo, and in Palermo he worked for the solo show of Christian Boltanski, Studio Azzurro, Vettor Pisani, John Bock, Atelier Van Lieshout, etc. He organized film and music festivals.
In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading", TED has created a program called TEDx, of local events, organized independently, that bring people together to share an experience similar to the one you live with TED.
