TEDxBrainport - Koert Van Mensvoort - Nano Supermarket May 25, 2011
"Nano is small" is too small a statement for Koert Van Mensvoort. Rather, he asks himself: "What can nano mean for our lives?"
And what better place to look for an answer than in the supermarket? For us, perhaps a quite mundane place, but just imagine how a caveman would feel if he was dropped inside one. So Van Mensfoort created the nano-supermarket, full of future products that might astound us.
Composed by artists, designers and engineers from 7 countries, it's an impressive list:
− Interactive paint that can infinitely change color;
− Nanowine that you can microwave to taste.
− Pharma sushi containing all the medicines you need.
− And a Twitter implant that automatically updates your medical file with your current health status so your doctor can tell when you've had too much nanowine.
About TEDx.
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.
At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos -- or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos -- sparks deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
