Noel Perry is a venture capitalist, social entrepreneur, philanthropist, and the founder of Next 10, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that educates, engages and empowers Californians to improve the state's future. Next 10 is focused on innovation and the intersection between the economy and the environment. The organization creates tools and provides information that fosters a deeper understanding of the critical issues affecting all Californians. Noel's TEDx talk lays the groundwork for a new California that is based on the active participation of all Californians.

This year's TEDxMonterey inspired and engaged the Monterey community with fascinating leaders, inventors, scientists, artists, community activists and global dreamers. With an all star line up of inspirational speakers the Monterey Institute of International Studies hosted the event on April 15th, 2011 and enjoyed participation from over 400 people both in person and online. The theme of this year's TEDxMonterey was Cultivating Innovation, which dazzled the audience through the themes of question, engage and transform.
