Mr. K K Muhammad, currently the Superintending Archaeologist with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), is noted for leading nationwide challenging restoration activities. Having successfully overcome obstacles to restore heritage sites across Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, among others, he has now taken over the Delhi region. He is also working on a museum, which is expected to boast of a culminated experience of the rich and diverse Indian heritage at one place. He has been the face of ASI during visits of many foreign heads of state and dignitaries to Indian monuments, including that of US President and Mrs. Barack Obama to the Humayun's Tomb in 2010. Additionally, he initiated informal educational sessions at kuccha schools across the ASI sites in New Delhi for children of the restoration laborers. He plans to extend the initiative for education of adult workers too.

Mr. KK Muhammad speaks at TEDxNSIT on the importance and need for preserving the heritage in India.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
