To the musician, ears are the mirror to the soul. "The most important things I say in my life may well be whispered," said Carl St. Clair about musical innovation.
The conductor demonstrates how by whispering honest feedback and direction, he encourages musicians to create exceptional music that mirrors their souls and deliver a level of performance that is exceptional and awe-inspiring.

Carl St. Clair celebrates his 21st season as Musical Director of the Pacific Symphony in Orange County. During his tenure, he has become widely recognized for his musically distinguished performances, his commitment to building outstanding educational programs and his innovative approaches to programming.

A strong advocate of music education for all ages, he has been essential to the creation and implementation of the symphony education programs including Classical Connections, arts-X-press and Class Act. Carl's commitment to the development and performance of new works by American composers is evident in the commissions and recordings by the Pacific Symphony.

About TEDx.
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos -- or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos -- sparks deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
