Jay Martin is a serial entrepreneur whose lifelong passion is to help change the world
through innovation and to teach others how to do the same.
Jay has focused much of his career on advancing biomimetic designs and re-shaping the future of
prosthetics and orthotics. His innovative ideas have centered on adaptive computer controlled
prosthetics, neural integration strategies, advanced man/machine interface designs, and
nanotechnology applications in prosthetics. As the founder of Martin Bionics, an engineering research
and development company that specialized in the development of advanced medical and prosthetic
technologies, and upon the merger with Orthocare Innovations, Jay helped to create the nation's largest
research and development group specializing in advanced prosthetic and orthotic technologies.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of
local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event
is called TEDxOKC, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxOKC event, TEDTalks
video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED
Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours,
are self-organized.
