Ryan Groves is the co-founder and executive director of Wishing Well: Water for the
World and a senior at Oklahoma Christian University. Five years ago, Wishing Well began as a student
organization focused on using the power of creativity and community to combat the water crisis. Since
then it has grown into a nationwide movement of students and communities using their gifts to fund
over 50 clean water projects in nine countries the world including Rwanda, Haiti and the Philippines.

A visionary and producer, Ryan led a team of six students and one photographer to Rwanda to film One
Drop, a documentary on the faces and hope of the water crisis. This groundbreaking film premiered in
Times Square and has received awards in such venues as the LA Film Festival.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of
local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event
is called TEDxOKC, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxOKC event, TEDTalks
video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED
Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours,
are self-organized.
