Ricky is an Artist and Curator, and it is his intent to inspire through art. He is the Founder of /A WORD OF ART and Write on Africa. Ricky believes that life and art are about practice, learning from the world and mostly looking within and learning from yourself and humbling yourself to allow for growth.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It began in California 25 years ago and has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. Some of the most well known TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Since its inception TED has expanded its annual conferences to TEDGlobal, TEDPrize, TEDx and TEDFellows. The main constant through every TED event revolves around exceptional individuals who desire to make a change in the world with their remarkable ideas, projects and activities.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
