A City of Eyes and Feet (2011)
No matter what happens in our lives, whatever life stage we are in, the busyness of the city trudges on. People bustling, cars passing, the common scenarios that happen when thousands of people converge in one place continually happen. This video explores this concept, juxtaposing personal perspectives and the slow appreciation of an individual, with the sometimes-overwhelming activity that continually swirls around us.
Bio
Calcagno Cullen is an artist and educator born in upstate New York and currently living in San Francisco, CA. Her work strives to create and bring attention to relationships and communities. She utilizes the habits, quirks, and experiences of the people in her vicinity to offer a temporary community, challenging viewers to consider the relational aesthetics between the people that surround them daily. She has shown her work widely throughout the US, including having work in curated exhibits in New York, Ann Arbor, Cincinnati, Boston, and San Francisco.
