Bryan Stuart helped create the Corps and Intern programs for One Laptop per Child (OLPC), working with government officials, teachers, and volunteers to improve access to quality education for children in some of the world's poorest countries. Bryan's work for OLPC has taken him to Argentina, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Peru, Rwanda, and Tanzania. He has worked with over 200 university students around the world to bring their diverse talents to OLPC's efforts. Over the past two years, Bryan has worn the hat of a marketer, recruiter, trainer, scheduler and manager.

Bryan graduated from Indiana University in May 2011 with one degree in mathematics and a second in business economics and public policy. He will enter graduate school in the fall to pursue a Ph.D. in economics.

Bryan believes that "The Wisdom of Play" represents the idea that we often learn best by embracing the same principles encompassed in playing. When we play, we don't fear failure, we respond actively to a changing environment, and we enjoy the experience. As children, we all play naturally. At some point, many of us lose this incredibly powerful talent, and the world is worse for it. Embracing the Wisdom of Play can make us better, both as individuals and a society.

About TEDx In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBloomington, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBloomington event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
