A Bloomington native, Corey Jefferson began acting and studying improvisational performance while a student at Bloomington High School South in 2000. He co-founded two Bloomington-based improv comedy groups, Cletus & Virgil and The Trickle-Down Effect. Most recently, he performed in Bill & Erin: One Night Standards for the Indy Fringe Festival, and in Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them at Theatre On The Square.

Corey has been a member of the improv comedy theater ComedySportzIndianapolis since 2009. ComedySportz is the longest-running show in Indianapolis, consisting of family-friendly improvisational comedy played as a sport, much like "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

By day, Corey performs a more serious variety of improv as senior phone canvass manager for the Citizens' Action Coalition of Indiana. Married to Shawna Smith-Jefferson, the couple enjoys the always-improvisational nature of parenting their two daughters, Grace and Isabella.

At TEDxBloomington, Corey brought the audience to their feet for some interactive theater games. "Sound and Motion" created a wave of energy and laughter across the theater, and "Tiger/Martian/Businessperson" became a game that people could share with their friends and families after the conference.
