La Cultura come volano di un nuovo modello di sviluppo sociale

Gianluca Busilacchi is lecturer of Sociology at the University of Macerata, Italy, and he is the Director of IRES Marche (Institute of Social and Economic Research). He holds a degree in Economics (cum laude) and a Ph.D. in Economic Sociology at the University of Brescia; over the last years he was visiting at the University of Barcelona, at London School of Economics, and Marie Curie fellow at the Centre for Social Policy of the University of Antwerp.
He is the only sociologist who has been selected for two years consecutively (2003 and 2004) by the Italian Sociological Association, for the "Young sociologist Forum", a special Conference which hosts every year the 20 best papers by Italian sociologist under the age of 40.
His research interests are in the field of comparative social policy, poverty policies and basic income. At the theoretical level he is working on the "capability approach" (developed by Amartya Sen), even within the Human Development and Capability Association. He is life member of Basic Income Earth Network, the network of researchers and politicians who promote basic income, and in this framework he also coordinated a special session within the Forum of Cultures (Barcelona 2004). He is co-director of the journal "Prisma-Economia,società e lavoro" (FrancoAngeli) and member of the editorial board of the Italian Journal of Social Policy.
