Khaled Tawfik was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt and lived there for the majority of his life. Over the last 10 years, he has lived all over the world in various capacities, culminating in him joining the 2012 MBA class of London Business School.

Despite being an avid traveler and thoroughly enjoying his time abroad, Khaled has been very much thinking about returning to continue his career in his home country, yet never found the right time or opportunity. On a recent trip to Egypt, Khaled experienced one of the most interesting events in the history of his country - the revolution of the 25th of January. This experience and the transition that Egypt is currently undergoing has reinvigorated his desire to go back to Egypt, which he is exploring through an internship in Egypt over the summer.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
