Jezera, reke i pripadajući živi svet u Srbiji ugrožavaju invazivne alohtone vrste riba. Savsko jezero deli sudbinu ovih ekosistema. To je bio razlog da u maju 2009. započne projekat pod nazivom "Populaciona istraživanja alohtonih invazivnih vrsta riba u Savskom jezeru." Kao rezultat istrazivanja, javila se ideja da se ode korak dalje i da se posebno problematicna vrsta, amerčki patuljasti somić ili cverglan, iskoristi kao resurs, odnosno sirovina.

Lakes, rivers and the living world in inland waters in Serbia is threatend by invasive, alien fish species. Sava Lake shares the same destiny with those ecosystems. That was the reason for starting the project "Population Research of invasive, alien species of fish in the Sava Lake." As a result of this research, we came to an idea to go a step further and use a particularly problematic species, the black bullhead, as a resource.
