Anjali Sabnani has taught for 10 years at the Akanksha Foundation, Mumbai, and had a dramatic impact on the lives of many of her students. She used innovative techniques and focused significantly on helping her students develop strong written and spoken language skills. One of these strategies was through exposing her students to newspapers and current events. Anjali now trains and supports all Akanksha teachers across Mumbai.

TEDxNarimanPoint 2011 took place on Friday September 2nd, 2011 at Y.B. Chavan Auditorium.
At TEDxNarimanPoint ideas were shared by eminent speakers on ways to transform the educational landscape in India and beyond. The speakers came from varied backgrounds of being educators themselves, social entrepreneurs in the education sector, policy makers, leaders in CSR etc. to present a view of the concerted effort required to change the educational landscape of a country.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
