MARJOLIJN VAN HEEMSTRA & MARIËLLE RIJKAART those who follow us will lead the future
Marjolijn van Heemstra is a journalist, writer, poet and theater maker. But that's not all. Van Heemstra is more than just a poetic journalist. She leads the way by being the first to have her debut collection of poems presented not only in print, but on YouTube as well. The online collection was one of the first works of poetry that was truly pushing the boundaries of poetry, journalism and new media.
Van Heemstra is accompanied by talented cello player MariÎlle Rijkaart, who leads the way by creating interesting cross overs with modern dance and performing for a world audience at Sjanghai World Expo.
While reciting a poem and playing classical music on the TEDxRotterdam stage, they will make you think about changing values that will probably lead your path to your future.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event†

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
