About Carlos Francisco Jackson, visual artist and writer: Born and raised in Los Angeles, Carlos attended the University of California, Davis where he received his bachelor of science in community and regional development and an MFA in painting, and was awarded the Robert Arneson Award for Excellence. He is currently an assistant professor in the Chicana/o Studies program at UC Davis and director of Taller Arte del Nuevo Amanecer, a community art center in Woodland, CA. He is the author of Chicana and Chicano Art: ProtestArte.

This talk is part of Session One: Meet for TEDxFruitvale, which was held on October 14, 2011 at Mills College in Oakland, CA.
