Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for what is right for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of right for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people abuse you, and persecute you, and speak all kinds of calumny against you for my sake. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. As it was with the prophets persecuted before you.

In your prayers, remeber your Father knows what your needs are before you ask Him. This is how you should pray:

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
