Award-winning photographer Dean Sewell recounts his experience documenting the aftermath of the 2009 Tsunami in Indonesia. He shows photos he took of the destruction and shares stories of the victims that crossed his path.

Tamara Dean and Dean Sewell are two of Australia's most highly respected photojournalists. Members of the Oculi photo collective, which Sewell co-founded in 2001, they work for Fairfax Media and are based in Sydney. Both Dean and Sewell have exhibited work in major Australian galleries such as the Art Gallery of NSW, the Australian Centre for Photography and are also held in many private collections.

Sewell was awarded first prize in the prestigious World Press Photo awards (Spot News Story category) for his work on the Tsunami aftermath in Indonesia. - Australian Broadcasting Corporation

Dean Sewell is a member of Oculi, a photographic collective. He works for Fairfax Media and is based in Sydney. Sewell is known for his work on the Tsunami aftermath in Indonesia and in 2009 on the plight of the Murray-Darling river system. The latter is the documentary photographer of the Engaging Visions project organized by Dr. John Reid.

Sewell won the Doug Moran Photographic Prize for 2009.
