Democratic Governors Association Chair and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley "firmly" believes Republicans have made political calculations that a prolonged economic malaise is positive for their political goals and as such will block moves by the Obama administration to spur the economy. O'Malley discussed his views with reporters at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.
