"For over ten years, wildlife photographer Jenny E. Ross has travelled to the Arctic, often with some of the world's leading polar bear researchers, to document the Arctic's top predator. Displaying dozens of her stunning photographs, Ross explains how she captures compelling Arctic images that are not only visually spectacular but also convey crucial information about polar bear biology, ecology, behavior, and conservation. She discusses the technical, artistic, and story-telling challenges involved, as well as her first-hand experiences of ongoing rapid climate change at the top of the world.

In February 2005, Kassie Siegel petitioned the Bush administration to protect the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act due to global warming, and ultimately achieved listing of the bear as a "threatened" species. She shares the inside story of the ongoing fight for polar bear protection.
