The TEDxPalermo Talk by Diana Verde Nieto was held in the afternoon of April30th. The location due to bad weather was changed at the very last minute and studio427 was welcoming our day. Her speech is a thoughtful, ironic and wise guide to envisage the concept of Failure as a potential boost for every career in sustainable creativity.
Diana is a Social Entrepreneur, Change-Maker and Author. Argentinean by birth and European in spirit she is the founder and former CEO Of Clownfish, a global sustainability communications. She took the company from a niche, London‐based company to a global brand known for innovative thinking and creativity in the sustainability and communications fields. In 2008, Clownfish was acquired by Aegis Media, a global media company. In 2010, Diana stepped down as Clownfish's CEO. In March 2011, The World Economic Forum nominated Diana as Young Global Leaders (YGLs). The honor, bestowed each year by the Forum, recognizes up to 200 outstanding young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world. Amongst other things, Diana has been trained by Al Gore at the Alliance of Climate Protection, and serves as an advisor to many companies, governments and non-governmental organisations.
In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading", TED has created a program called TEDx, of local events, organized independently, that bring people together to share an experience similar to the one you live with TED. The TED Conference provides general guidance for all the TEDx events, but local events are made independently.
